Tommy T Thomson, age 75, passed away unexpectedly while vacationing in the mountains of Colorado. He was born Dec 29, 1946 in Corpus Christi to J.T. and Pauline Thomson. He was a fourth generation Texan and a longtime resident of The Woodlands. Tommy was married to his best friend, Jerisue, for forty years. They have one son, Matthew, who will forever remain the light of his life.
After a successful career in commercial insurance, Tommy began to pursue his lifelong passion for travel. This inspired two companies, Tropical Travel and The Mayan Traveler, along with his publication, "Belize Currents". He had a great love for art, history and archeology and maintained an extensive collection of cherished literature, folk art and textiles. Throughout Tommy's life, he participated with various charitable organizations, his most heartfelt being The Houston Livestock and Rodeo Special Children's Olympics Committee.
Tommy is survived by his wife Jerisue and son Matthew of The Woodlands, niece Stephanie Sheffield Smith of Canyon, TX and a loving family of in-laws, Rowell and Kitty Palmer of Kingwood, Rob and Lauren Palmer of Spring, plus five amazing grand nieces.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, June 18 at 2:00 at Christ Church United Methodist, 6363 Research Forest, The Woodlands, TX 77381. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to MD Anderson Cancer Center, Appendiceal Cancer research.
