Tom Mozdir, 75, of Amarillo, Texas went home to be with the Lord on February 15, 2022. Graveside service will be held at North Tulare Cemetery on Friday, March 4, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. Tom was born and raised in Tulare, California by his parents, Charles and Arlis Mozdir. He graduated from Tulare Union High School in 1965 and continued his education at College of the Sequoias before being drafted into the United States Army Corp in 1966. Tom was stationed in both Vietnam and Seoul Korea. He served with the 101st Airborne while in Vietnam and the 8th Army Honor Guard in Seoul Korea. After completing his Army service, Tom returned to Tulare to marry his high school sweetheart Betty Stone on November 23, 1968. Tom and Betty had two children, Cory Mozdir and Kelly (Mozdir) Van Dyk. As a family, the Mozdir's took trips to their family cabin at Shaver Lake, CA where they enjoyed water skiing and snow skiing. He also enjoyed rodeoing, roping and team pinning. He was actively involved in 4-H and FFA with his children and a member of the Elks Lodge and Eagle's Lodge. Tom worked for Cain Truckling and owned Tire Tom's Tire Shop. In 1993, Tom began a new career as a transportation officer for the state of California until retirement. He held various instructor permits while active with the department. Upon retirement Tom enjoyed attending his grandchildren's programs and sporting events, watching drag races, traveling internationally and taking many RV trips across the United States with his family. Tom is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Betty, his two daughters, Cory Mozdir (Tulare, CA) and Kelly and John Van Dyk (Sunray, TX). His six knuckleheads, Kamber, Lauren, Tanner and Mason Van Dyk (Sunray, TX) Gavin Jarrard (Amarillo, TX) and Keira Fawley (Amarillo, TX), his brother Richard Mozdir (San Diego, CA), sister-in law Christie Boggs and husband Dan (Tulare, CA), step brother Bobby Sharley and wife Teresa (Tulare, CA), step brother Carson Sharley and wife Ramie (Tulare, CA) and his nieces and nephews.
