Timothy "Slo" Joe Sutherlin, 65, of Gosport, passed from this life in the comfort of his own home on Tuesday, October 6, 2020. He was born to the late Wade O. and Ruby I. (Taylor) Sutherlin on May 7, 1955 in Martinsville.
He graduated from Martinsville High School with the class of 1973. He later earned an associate's in accounting from Ivy Tech graduating Magna Cum Laude. He then earned a bachelor's in accounting from Indiana Wesleyan graduating Summa Cum Laude.
Slo was an avid NASCAR fan. He also loved the Dallas Cowboys and was an Indianapolis Colts when they were not playing the Cowboys.
He leaves behind his loving family including his sons, Jason (wife, Leslie) Sutherlin of Ellettsville, Cody Sutherlin of Bloomington, and Dylan (wife, Emily) Sutherlin of Chicago, Illinois; daughter, CaSandra Lone of Bloomington; brothers, David (wife, Anita) Sutherlin of Martinsville and Randy (wife, Sandi) Sutherlin of Gosport; sister, Linda (husband, James) Anderson of Flower Mound, Texas; grandchildren, Cameron Rose, Austin Langley, Hannah Ledbetter, Christopher Cash Samaras, Zaya Sutherlin-Nunez, Ruby Sutherlin, Pearl Sutherlin, Alayna Berry, and Mikhaila Berry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wade and Ruby and his twin brother, Thomas Sutherlin.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, November 6, 2020 from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon in the chapel at Neal & Summers Funeral and Cremation Center in Martinsville. Mr. Sutherlin's earthly remains have been cremated. Following the gathering, he will be laid to rest alongside his parents and late brother in New South Park Cemetery in Martinsville.
