Tim McCoy, 66, of Cuyahoga Falls, joined our Lord and Savior unexpectedly on Wednesday July 14, 2021, surrounded by the love of his life, Mary Ellen, his wife of 41 years, and his children, Megan Kovac (Tim) and Joe McCoy (Chelsea) at his side. Tim was welcomed into heaven by the arms of his son, Timmy, who preceded him in death in 2007.
A devout Catholic, Tim led by example to instill the values of commitment to faith, family and hard work to his children, friends, and all those he touched. Tim and Mary Ellen were regulars at their children's sporting events and school activities. Tim was incredibly proud of his children, particularly for the loving and devoted adults and parents they have become.
A lover of the outdoors, a longtime member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, Tim cherished opportunities to go camping, hiking, and hunting with his family and friends. Tim guided both his boys through the years or hard work, service, and determination to earn the milestone accomplishment of Eagle Scout. Recognizing his daughter's artistic abilities, Tim encouraged her to cultivate her talent and worked side-by-side with her to completely renovate her first home.
Tim was a strong man and never hesitated to demonstrate his love and affection for his four grandchildren, Maggie, Teddy, Will, and James. With his granddaughter being his princess, he found joy in surprising her with a pink Minnie Mouse four-wheeler and fixing her chairs for teatime. He was eager to share his skill and expertise in carpentry with his grandchildren, including spending hours under the kitchen table with a toy toolset, patiently teaching Will how to use each tool.
Tim is also survived by his sisters, Nancy Miller and Diane Polo.
Please join the family for a celebration of Tim's life. Friends may call at Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home, 3333 Kent Road, Stow for calling hours Sunday 7/18 from 2-6pm.
