Timothy John Haffner, 42, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at MidState Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer, with his family by his side. Born in Meriden, on September 26, 1979, he was the son of Kathleen Kane Valente and the late Paul Haffner. He was a lifelong Meriden resident. Mr. Haffner was employed by the New Haven Postal Service as a letter carrier for sixteen years. He was an avid comic book collector and a fan of the New York Mets. Besides his mother, Kathleen and his stepfather, David Valente, he is survived by his son, Connor Haffner, and his two sisters, Kimberly Cassista and her husband, Justin and Arianne Letourneau and her wife, Amanda. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Florence Kane, his nephew, Jackson Cassista, and his best friend and mother of his son, Damaris Portalatin as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, John and Alice Haffner and his maternal grandfather, John Kane. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Connor Haffner Trust Fund c/o Ion Bank, 500 W. Main St., Meriden, CT 06451.Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, July 21st at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, CT 06450 from 4 to 7p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 22nd at the funeral home at 9a.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
