WADSWORTH - Timothy H. Davis, 65, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2021 surrounded by his wife and children. He was born March 23, 1956 in Rittman, Ohio.
Tim is preceded in death by Mother, Marjorie Davis; Stepmother, Chrysan Davis; and Father, Harold Davis. He is survived by his wife, Molly, of 43 years; children: Andrew Davis (Sara); Brian Davis; Lauren Blevins (Rob); Danielle Coe (Adam); grandchildren: Grant and Miles Coe; Orly Davis; and siblings: Susi Mollica (Frank); Christopher Davis (Julia).
Tim was raised in Rittman, Ohio and held fond memories of playing in nearby, open farm fields and biking down local country roads with his childhood friends. He often told stories about tinkering in his grandfather's basement workshop and traveling out west or to Kelleys Island with his family. Tim was a 1974 graduate of Rittman High School where he was active on the school's golf team and played the trumpet in the marching band. He continued his education at the University of Akron (B.S. Business Administration) and at Kent State University (M.B.A.). He began working at an early age at Morton Salt in Rittman, Brown Cleaners in Orrville - where he asked Molly out on their first date - and Hilliard-Cox Funeral Home in Wadsworth all before beginning his 32 year career in marketing and sales at the J.M. Smucker Company. Tim retired from his career in business in 2016.
Tim enjoyed spending time with and supporting his family, and in recent years, he was especially grateful for time with his three young grandchildren and was excited to welcome a fourth grandchild in June. He was a natural handyman around the house, and throughout his life, he always had various projects underway at home: room-by-room interior renovations, years-long landscaping projects, endless fixing-up tasks, and memorably, two elaborate, wooden swing sets he designed and built for his children to enjoy for years. He valued family traditions, loved to share a good meal with friends and family, and always looked forward to traveling any place warm, especially Arizona, or anywhere he could be near water. Tim held a lifelong love of the game of golf and was a long-standing member at Westfield Country Club where he was an early-morning regular on the tee with his friends. In retirement, he developed an appreciation for bird watching in his beautiful backyard and enjoyed learning about the local birds of Ohio.
Tim will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be remembered for his inviting, gregarious personality; for his sense of humor, quick wit, and contagious laugh; for his storytelling, his creativity, the dreams he held for the future, and for his faith.
Following Tim's wishes, an intimate, graveside, memorial service is planned for Saturday, May 1. Tim's final resting place will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Wadsworth.
The family is deeply grateful for the care, support and services received from our friends and family, Barberton Hospital, Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, Woodlawn Cemetery, and Pastor Robin Hart. Memorial donations can be made in remembrance of Tim to the National Audubon Society.
