Tim Rubino, 74, passed away unexpectedly on December 3, 2024, in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. He was a beloved, husband, father, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Tim was born on May 13, 1950, in Steubenville, OH, and grew up in Elizabeth, PA. He was a scholar athlete at Elizabeth Forward High School and attended Kent State University on a football scholarship. After graduating with a degree in education, he married his high school sweetheart, Linda, in 1972. They settled in Kent, OH where Tim began his coaching and teaching career at Davy Junior High.
Soon after, he and Linda moved to Toledo, Ohio with their close friends to start teaching and coaching careers at Whitmer High School. Tim was a dedicated member of the Washington Local School District, serving the students, community, athletic program, and teachers union for thirty years.
After retiring from Washington Local, Tim took on the role of substitute teacher and paraprofessional at Ottawa Hills Local School District. He became a beloved member of that school community, as well.
Throughout his career, Tim was known for his hard work, loyalty, kindness, and dedication to helping others.
For the past ten years, Tim and Linda enjoyed a fun-filled beach life. From date nights, "Prosecco-clock", fishing, trips to Mexico, hot yoga classes, and time spent with their 'beach family' he lived and loved every day to the fullest.
Tim is survived by his loving wife, Linda; his children, Mandy and Ross; and his sister, Toni O'Farrell.
At Tim's request, no formal services will be held.
