Thomas G. Vaughan 74, passed away unexpectedly from prostate cancer on Tuesday morning February 23, 2021 at his home in Springfield, Vt. He was born June 8, 1946 in Springfield the son of Rodney and Margaret (Sullivan) Vaughan. He attended Springfield Schools, graduating from Springfield High School class of 1964. He later graduated from the Art Institute of Boston.
Tom served in the United States Army 1967-1970.
On August 2, 1980 He married Audrey Freeland in Plainfield, New Hampshire.
He was employed as a Technical Illustrator with U.S. Army Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (CRREL) in Hanover, N.H retiring in 2003 with 31 years of service. During this time, he also worked with his brother Bill doing custom artwork on many motorcycle tanks. After he retired from CRREL he served as a volunteer docent at the Cornish Colony/Maxfield Parrish Museum in Windsor, VT and Saint-Gauden's National Historical Park in Cornish, NH. For the past 10 years he was a lifeguard at the Edgar May Health and Recreation Center in Springfield. On nice summer days he could be seen driving his Triumph TR6, Honda S2000 or his Harley Davidson Sportster 48 motorcycle.
He is survived by his wife Audrey of Springfield, two sons; Jeremy Freeland and his wife Amber in Port Barrington, IL, and Brian Vaughan and his wife Alex in Hailey, ID, one sister Mary Kay Taylor and her husband Don of Rockingham, two brothers William Vaughan of North Springfield, and Jack Vaughan of Springfield, four granddaughters; Kaylie, Kendall, Amaya and Finley. Also, by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents, and daughter Amy White.
Friends may call at the Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield from 1:00 to 3:00 PM on Saturday February 27, 2021.
