On Tuesday, March 12, 2024, Thomas Patrick Reidy passed away. He was ninety-three years old. Born to Marie Donegan and Thomas Reidy in Chicago, IL in 1930, he grew up on a farm in Medaryville, IN. Tom graduated from the Kelley Business School at Indiana University with an undergraduate and graduate degree in Finance in 1954. He was top of his class and one of 17 students chosen to be in Beta Gamma Sigma, the highest scholastic honor a student of business can achieve. He was a commissioned officer in the United States Air Force and held rank of Captain working in finance. He retired from the South Bend school system where he held roles in finance to include acting school superintendent. He and his wife Martha Frueh Reidy, who passed away in 2005, moved to Marco Island, FL where they spent their winters, and spent their summers in Bear Lake, MI. Tom served as the President of his Florida condominium board for 12 years. He was a member of Rotary Club International and volunteered for Habitat for Humanity. He was a man of faith and was a member of St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church in South Bend, San Marco Catholic Church in Marco Island and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Onekama, MI. He leaves many loving nieces and nephews whose lives he has improved by the example of his faith, humility, and love. A funeral mass will be held at St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church in South Bend, IN at a yet to be determined date.
