Thomas Fred Register, aged 54, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2019, in Houston Texas following a long illness. Tom was born in Rome, New York on May 15, 1965, the son of the late Barth Register (2019) and Ann Jacqueline "Jackie" Register (2018).
Tom was educated in the Rome School System. At the age of 18, Tom joined the United States Army. He proudly served in the military for four years at Fort Knox, Kentucky and Fort Polk, Louisiana. After his time in the military, Tom became a talented machinist in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and later established his own machine services company.
Tom was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed camping, boating, traveling, and sports. Tom loved animals, especially his dogs. Tom will be remembered by his ability to make people laugh. Throughout his illness, Tom never lost his sense of humor and fighting spirit.
Tom is survived by his former wife, Delona Fontenot Register and their two children, Kailey and Bryce Register, of Scott Louisiana, as well as a grandchild, Conrad. He is also survived by his second wife, Tammy Harrington Register and two step children, Cody and Trevor Stratton, of Texas; Tom's brother, Steve Register, of Camden; his sister, Jean Lovett, and brother-in-law, Dusty Shields, of Rome. He will also be missed by his nephew, Derek Register and wife Laci of Camden; a niece, Kelsey Lovett of Rome, nephew Kevin Lovett and wife Melanie of Saratoga Springs; as well as many relatives and special friend, Tim Lovett of Rome.
Memorial services for the family will be private and there are no calling hours.
