Thomas "Pete" Brantley Brown, Jr., age 79, of Austell passed away August 19, 2022. Pete was a long-time resident of the Cobb County area and was always very civically oriented. He was a member of the Smyrna Jaycees club and held many offices within that organization, including president, and was involved at the local, regional, and state levels. He held the position of Commander, among other positions, at the American Legion Post 216 in Austell. He was also a member of the Communication Works of America and spent many years in that industry.
His free time consisted of working on Jaycee projects, managing the Legion, working on cars, and enjoying the outdoors. He loved to play golf, go hunting, and go deep-sea fishing. Pete was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be dearly missed.
Pete is preceded in death by his mother, Gertie Burnett Brown; and sisters, Jerrie Brown Griggs and Barbara Carol Brown. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Ann Saliba Brown; children, Alicia B. Goodwin (husband, Jeff) of Hiram, and Thomas Jason Brown of Jacksonville Beach, FL; grandchildren, Olivia Grace Goodwin, Colten Brown, and Kinley Brown; and many beloved extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 28th, 2:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Chapel with Pastor Stephen Everett officiating. Friends are welcome to come at 1:00 PM before the service. Interment will occur at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Acworth.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home.
