Thomas Pendleton Sr., 80, of Niantic, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2022. Born on September 20, 1941 in Cranston, Rhode Island, he was the son of the late Joseph Pendleton Jr. and Jeanie (McKee) Pendleton. Thomas married his childhood sweetheart, Carol Baton, in 1962 and spent 34 years together, making a home and raising their family together in Chesterfield. Thomas proudly served as a junior firefighter in Niantic and then became a lifelong member of the Chesterfield fire department. He was also a military veteran serving in the U.S. Army and the CT National Guard. He retired from the former AVCRAD in Groton, working as the building superintendent. Tom, Carol, and Heather spent the summers living on their boat in Niantic. He also loved camping with his children and grandchildren. He collected lighthouses and loved the ocean. Tom liked to paint and draw. He would paint everything. Tom loved going to the races on Saturdays with his sons in law Teddy and Allan. Above all else, Thomas found his joy in spending time with family, he loved animals and those he held close to his heart. Thomas is predeceased by his parents, his wife, and his son, Douglas Pendleton as well as two brothers and his sister. Thomas is survived by his sister Doris McCambridge of Georgia. Thomas will be greatly missed by his children, Thomas Pendleton Jr and his wife Kelly of Waterford, CT, Linda Pendleton and her partner Tom Keramidas of Stonington, CT, and Heather Randeau and her husband Jason, of Salem, CT. And Sharon Tuttle and her husband Allan and son Josh Shaw of Niantic, CT, who Thomas lived with for many years. He is also survived by his grandchildren Christopher, Brandy, Derek, Nicola, Samantha, Jennifer, Natalie, Harley, Rocco and Brandon. He also had four great grandchildren. Rosanne and Jessica McArdle were also part of Thomas' family. Thomas' family would like to thank all the staff at Bridebrook Health and Rehabilitation for taking care of him and making him comfortable in the last months of his life. Funeral will be private. Any donations in Thomas' name can be made to Niantic fire department or Chesterfield Volunteer fire department or any organization of your choice.
