Thomas A. Kinne Sr., 81 of Great Barrington died Friday, July 2, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Tom was born in Great Barrington on May 8, 1940 son of Robert H. and Edith C. (Chenot) Kinne. Tom attended the former Searles High School where he played basketball and baseball, Berkshire School where he played football, baseball and basketball and after went on to UMass where he played on the golf team. He earned his Masters at Kearney State College in Nebraska. Tom retired as a Guidance Counselor at Monument Mountain. He was a lifelong member of Wyantenuck Country Club where he served as President, on the Board of Governors, and on many committees and was Club Champion. Tom coached for over fifty years at Searles, Monument Mountain and Mount Everett High School; coaching girls' soccer, basketball and softball and boys' soccer, basketball and baseball. He was elected to the Monument Mountain High School Hall of Fame as a Coach and an Athlete. His greatest love of coaching was seeing his past players grow and mature into amazing young men and women. His teams won several Western Mass Championships in all sports and State Championships in boys' soccer and girls' basketball. All the wins and losses didn't matter, it was teaching the life lessons to his players that did. Tom was a fan of the Red Sox, New York Giants and the New England Patriots and his favorite past time was his love of golf and spending time with his family. Tom is survived by his wife Marjorie (Kellogg) Kinne whom he married on January 19, 1963, two sons, Thomas A.
