Thomas Ray Kimbrell, 89, of 531 White's Farm Road, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at Palmetto Patriots Home in Gaffney.
Born in Shelby, NC, he was the husband of Dorothy Ann Gibbons Kimbrell and son of the late Carl Kimbrell and Tessie Gossett Kimbrell. He retired from the U. S. Air Force, retired as a teacher from Rock Hill School District 1, and was the owner/operator of Kimbrell's Farm Equipment. He was a Mason with the Blacksburg Lodge and member of Mt. Paran Baptist Church where he was a former deacon and Sunday School teacher.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Elizabeth Ann Kimbrell Hoyle (Dean) of Blacksburg and Constance Lee Kimbrell Stuckey (Bryan) of Lexington, SC; a sister, Grace Black (Bill) of Winnsboro; a brother-in-law, David Gibbons (Mary) of Blacksburg; five grandchildren, Justin Hoyle (Mandy), Jordan Hoyle (Meg), Bryan Stuckey, Jr. (Lauren), Jacob Stuckey and Gibbons Stuckey (Macayla); eight great-grandchildren, Liam, Clary, Ben, Dorothy, Jack, Hudson, Penny and Lennon; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Kimbrell and a sister-in-law, Jewel Kimbrell.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Mt. Paran Baptist Church with Reverend Darrell Revels and Reverend Joel Gardner officiating. Interment, with full military honors, will be in the Mt. Paran Baptist Church Cemetery and the family will receive friends following the graveside service.
