"Mr. Tom", as he was affectionately known, had many friends who truly loved him. Whether in church, the garden, the woodworking shop, or Walmart, he loved seeing people and was always genuinely interested in what they had to say. It was there he reconnected with Jean, his childhood sweetheart from the neighboring farm near Ft. Payne. After marrying, they moved to Rome, which was home the rest of their lives.
