Age eighty-five. Longtime resident of Troy. Thomas is the beloved husband of the late Mary (d.2021);
Cherished father of Thomas Jr. (Bonnie) Hrynik of Royal Oak, Amy (Scott) Cleland of Rochester Hills,
Maria (Tim) Thompson of Grosse Pointe and Michael Hrynik. Mr. Hrynik is also survived fourteen grandchildren
And twelve great-grandchildren, and Lorraine (Richard) Kinney of East China Township. Member of the 4H Club as a youth. As a caddie at Plum Hollow in his youth, he was awarded a scholarship to the University of Michigan where he earned both an undergraduate degree and a master's degree. Avid golfer earning Three holes in ones in his lifetime. Loved his Tigers, Lions, Redwings, and especially his reigning National Championship Wolverines where he was a season ticket holder since the 1970's. Coached both of his sons in little league baseball. Traveled the world with his bride, the love of his life, of 59 years, Mary. Attended every possible game of his grandchildren
As he could. Past president of ASBE (American Society of Body Engineers). Worked at Ford Motor Company for 35 years where he was in charge of Passive Restraints world wide. During that time he was awarded 5 US Patents. Served in the US National Guard Reserves. Loved bird watching and working outside in his wife's garden.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 15 at St. Thomas More Church, 4580 N. Adams Rd., Troy. The Hrynik family will greet guests from 9:30 AM at the church.
