Thomas Livingston Hebble, age 90 of Philadelphia and long-time Oak Ridge resident, passed away Saturday, July 16th, 2022 surrounded by family members. Thomas was born to the late Howard Barton and Georgianna (Livingston) Hebble, Sr. in Cincinnati, Ohio. He received his Bachelor of Science at Otterbein University and his Master's degree in Statistics from Florida State University. He retired from Y-12 and Oak Ridge National Labs in 1994, after thirty years. In his early years, Thomas was a Korean Conflict era veteran serving in the 27th AAA Battery of the US Army, stationed in Germany. Thomas had a passion for helping others and volunteered in many charitable organizations. He had a special affinity for the Recording for the Blind organization, where he served in multiple capacities over the years. He was a long-time member of the Church of the Resurrection in Loudon. From a young age, Thomas was an adventurer. His first new vehicle was a Jeep and he spent many weekends exploring the back roads and trails of the Cumberland Mountains. His children and friends fondly remember many excursions camping, caving, and canoeing. He enjoyed sailing and spent lots of time exploring the Chesapeake Bay, the Caribbean Islands, and the Bahamas. And when he and his daughter earned their private pilot licenses together, he explored from the air as well. All activities were made better by the addition of family and friends. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of 58 years, Janice (Powell) Hebble; brother, Howard B. Hebble, Jr. and a sister, Mary Hebble Anderson. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Julie and Milton Arledge of Philadelphia, Steven Hebble of Oak Ridge, and Robert and Sara Hebble of Grandview, TN and Frankfort, KY; grandchildren, Clifton Pate, Bradford Pate, Amanda Palmer, Eli Purdy, Rheldi Purdy and Abe Claxon; 8 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. The family will greet friends beginning at 4:30 PM in the Parish Hall of the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection with services honoring and remembering Thomas at 6:00 PM in the Sanctuary with a reception immediately following the service.
