Mr. Thomas "Tom" Gary Clayton Hallman, Sr., 83, entered into rest March 20, 2021, he was the loving husband of the late Mary Hallman.
Tom was born in Greenwood, SC and retired from the Federal Government. He was a member of The Sons of Confederate Veterans Palmetto Camp 22and Master Mason at St. John's Lodge 1 in Wilmington, NC. For over 50 years, he and his wife loved to remodel homes and landscape, he loved animals and wildlife. Tom got his 15 minutes of fame in 1942 at the age of 5 in Five Points, SC when a box truck got stuck under a bridge. He suggested they let the air out in the tires to get the truck unstuck and fill them back up. Also, he received an accommodation by President Richard Nixon while he was working in the Pentagon. He loved his family and friends.
He is survived by his children: Thomas G. Hallman and Price Cole Hallman; grandchildren: Westley and Amy Hallman, Josh Hallman (Keri), Irvin Baker, all of York, PA, and Shawanda Smith and Larry Crowl of Severn, MD; great grandchildren: Reese Hallman, Miles Hallman, Grace Hallman, Gavin Myers, all of York, PA, Myson Crowl, Destiny Harvey, of Baltimore, MD, and Kiki Green, of Severn; and sister: Beth and Brad Hallman Broome of North Augusta, SC; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his children: Mary France Hallman; parents: Harry Morgan Hallman and Frances Loi Underwood; grandparents: Morgan Curtis Hallman and Elizabeth Still Hallman; brothers: Mayor Harry M. Hallman of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Richard A. Hallman of Wilmington, NC, and Robert J. Hallman of Atlanta, GA; and sister: Dinah L. Hallman Marino.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at Faith Community Fellowship Church, 157 West Frontage Rd., Aiken, SC 29805.
