Thomas Carlton Flaugher, age 62 of Fort Mill, South Carolina,died Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Levine-Dickson Hospice at Southminister of Charlotte after a short battle with cancer. As a son of military parents, he was born on February 3, 1959 in Roswell, NM to the late Lt. Col. USAF (Ret) William and Frances (Jerrie) Wright Flaugher.
Tom graduated from Chapel Hill Senior High School and attended the University of North Carolina night school and Kings College. Tom started out working in the restaurant business which took him to several places on the eastern seaboard where he made many of his lifelong dear friends. Tom eventually settled into sales work and was employed with Leoch Battery at the time of his death. Tom's big personality and his I've met no stranger attitude made him an excellent sales person and great friend to all.
Survivors include his wife, Amee J.Dutko,and daughter, Alaina Noelle Flaugherof Fort Mill, SC, his son Evans Flaugher (Ashley) of Raleigh, NC, sister Jo Carrol Hill of Pittsboro, NC, brothers William Flaugher (Maria Soledad) of Tucson, Arizona, Brigadier General USAF (Ret), Jonathan Flaugher (Merle) of Clovis, California, Steven Flaugher (Michele) of Washington, NC, David Flaugher (Alison) of Raleigh, NC, Major USA (Ret) Douglas Flaugher (Tamara) of Chapel Hill, NC and Mark Flaugher (Kimberli) of Chapel Hill, NC; former wife, Susan Evans Flaugher of Wilmington, NC, nieces and nephews, Frank Hill, Jordan Flaugher-Flood, Carlie Flaugher, Hannah Flaugher, Hunter Flaugher, William Flaugher, Maggie Flaugher, Samantha Flaugher, Laney Flaugher, Eli Flattum and several great-nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Jeff and Tammie McNeish of Matthews, NC, Tom's longtime friends, for their invaluable support to the end and beyond.
