Thomas G. Fallon, 86, of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, passed away May 12, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. His story is of a life well lived by a good & selfless man. Born in Pittsfield on December 24, 1935, he was the son of the late John and Mary Kushi Fallon.
He was educated in Pittsfield Catholic Schools and is a 1953 graduate of St Joseph's High School. He received his bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Notre Dame in 1957. He also did graduate work at North Adams State College and the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Mr. Fallon was a United States Army Veteran, having served 1959-62 in Germany.
He married the former Annette Genovese on July 6, 1963. They had met while both teaching at the former North Junior High.
Mr. Fallon was a math teacher in the Pittsfield Public Schools for over 30 years. He was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve and the American Legion. He was also a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.
He enjoyed golfing, playing cards, cooking, baking, watching Notre Dame football, performing random acts of kindness wherever he went, spending time with family and doting on his seven grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Annette Fallon of Pittsfield. Two daughters, Caron Quinn and husband Michael of Wilbraham, MA, Maura Carty and husband Dan of Sudbury, MA; Son, US Congressman Patrick Fallon and wife Susan of Frisco, TX; Brother, Denis Fallon and wife Kathy of The Villages, FL as well as seven grandchildren, Thomas & Lauren Quinn, Jack, Maighdlin, & Sam Carty and Thomas & Mac Fallon. He was predeceased by his brothers, Robert & Shaun and his nieces Denise, Johanna, Maureen, Cynthia and his nephew Bobby.
Tom Fallon led by example and taught his children the vital importance of faith, grace, kindness, goodwill, humor and making this life's journey guided by a gentle, caring and loving heart. He will be dearly missed. And we're pretty sure it wasn't lost on Tom that the Red Sox were in last place on his last day. At least we have Notre Dame! GO IRISH!
Funeral Notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held, THURSDAY, May 19, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, celebrated by Rev. Peter A. Gregory. Inurnment will follow at the St. Michael the Archangel Mausoleum at St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the service from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to Sacred Heart Church in care of the funeral Home.
