Thomas E Daniels, Jr. 74 passed away on December 31, 2021 after a 6 year courageous battle with cancer. His friends Jerome Tocio, Jimmy Midget, and Joseph Rosen were by his side at time of passing. Thomas was preceded by his partner of 37 years, William H Potterbaum. He was the son of the late Thomas E Daniels Sr. His mother Beatrice McCarthy and step father John McCarthy and his sister Lucille Bailey. His eight nieces and nephews as well as his Aunt Marilyn, Uncle Edward and many cousins. He also leaves behind his treasured friends, Barbara Miller, Jerome Tocio, Janine, Stephen and Sydney Hebert "Sneezy", Jimmy Midget and Joseph Rosen. His Very Special friend with special needs, from Star Ability of Naples. Tom had a lifelong passion for pure breed dogs. At the age of 17 he purchased his first German Shepard dog. Over the years he also shared his life with many breeds of varied sizes. The smallest was a mini dachshund, affectionately known as Cooper the wonder dog. Tom also loved judging at dog shows for many years. His latest assignments were this past Summer judging in Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Massachusetts. With all his pain and suffering he still completed his commitments to judge. Tom judged the Toy Groups as well as Non-Sporting, and also enjoyed judging conformation of the Miscellaneous Breeds and Junior Sportsmanship. Tom also served as President of the Greater Naples Dog Club, and show Chairman. Tom was a member of the Classic Dog Club of Western MA. He belonged to several dog clubs throughout Florida and Massachusetts. Tom had a big heart for dogs. His love for dogs spanned over 57 years. He was always helpful and encouraging to the novice owner/handlers. Tom was a very caring, creative, passionate, and hardworking person. Tom enjoyed having 5 o'clock cocktail hour with his friends. Some things he liked to do in his free time is playing bingo, going to the casino, taking care of plants and gardening, watching the Formula 1 racing on television. Tom had a great appreciation for European sports cars and was an avid Formula 1 racing fan.
At Toms request there will be no services. His remains will be brought to Ticonderoga, NY to be laid to rest along with his Mom, Dad and sister.
