Thomas C. Bollman, 85, of Bethel, died early Thursday morning, November 12, 2020, at Gifford Medical Center in Randolph.
Tom was born January 5, 1935, in Orr, Minnesota; the son of Alexander and Marie (Sundquist) Bollman. He was raised in Minnesota and lived in Wisconsin, New Jersey, Barnard, and East Randolph before moving to Bethel in 1958. Tom married Catherine Cruz on September 20, 1958, in Bethel; she predeceased him on April 15, 1994.
As a young man, Tom worked a milk route in the Randolph area then served in the US Army from 1955 to 1957. After an honorable discharge from the Army, he went to work for Fyles and Rice a veneer mill in Bethel. Around 1970 he started in construction as a pipe layer; a trade he stayed in over 40 years. Most of those years were with his friend Carroll Avery and they continued working together at United Construction of Newport, NH.
Tom enjoyed digging antique bottles, fishing, gardening, playing croquet, caring for his lawn, and taking Sunday drives with the family. Tom enjoyed his last years spending time with his constant companion, his yellow lab, Marley.
Survivors include his daughters Linda Smith of Bethel, and Marie Milnor and husband Chip of Braintree; son Keith Bollman and wife Christi of Bethel; grandchildren Jeremiah Smith, Joshua Bollman, Liberti Bollman; great-grandchildren Liam and Lorelei Smith. He was predeceased by two brothers and four sisters.
A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date. There are no calling hours.
