Thomas Holmes Bernard of Dallas, Texas, passed away of natural causes on Monday, January 18th, 2021 just 3 days shy of his 91st birthday.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00am, Friday, February 19th at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 301 Country Club Rd, Fairview, Tx, 75069. Reverend Tab Ottmers will be officiating. Masks are requested to be worn. The service will be streamed live at 11:00am CT via Facebook Live on the Immanuel Lutheran Church - LCMS, Fairview TX Facebook page. You will also be able to view the service at a later date on the church website https://immanuelfv.org. The service will be followed by a light lunch at the church prior to departing for burial.
Burial will follow at 1:30pm at Restland Cemetery, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Tx, 75243. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association in memory of Tom.
Tom was born January 21,1930 in Waterloo, Iowa. He enjoyed a very long 38 year career at Braniff Airways. He then went on to work for the City of Irving TX Police Dept. in the Property Department for 18 years until he retired.
Tom is survived by his three sisters, Rosemary Mally, Elizabeth Leathem and Ruth Rosendale, his daughter-in-law Margaret Bernard, his two oldest daughters, Paula & her husband Ken Grier, Lisa Bernard, son Craig Bernard and his wife Rhonda, and his youngest daughter Heather & her husband Todd Denton; 9 grandchildren, Christopher Bernard and his wife Neerali, Kimberly Bernard, Austin & Jordan Grier, Savannah, Jonathan & Andrew Bernard, Knox and Hayes Denton; and 3 great-grandchildren, Soren, Nico and Remy Bernard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank & Gertrude Bernard, his two older brothers Bill & Ernest Bernard, his wife of 35 years, Bonnie Lea Bernard (Wenzl) and his oldest son Jeffrey Thomas Bernard.
