Mrs. Theresa Marie Fowler Snipes

Mrs. Theresa Marie Fowler Snipes, 98, of Sylvester, died on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Pine Shadows Retirement Manor in Sylvester.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Banks Funeral Home Chapel, interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery. The Rev. Steve Purnell will officiate.

Mrs. Snipes was born on September 12, 1924 in Worth County, to the late Britton Adam and Nellie Mae Long Fowler. She had lived in Worth County most of her life and was retired from Shiver Tractor Company in Sylvester, where she worked as a book keeper. Mrs. Snipes enjoyed fishing, reading, cooking, bird watching, and tending to her flowers. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Snipes was a founding and dedicated member of Shingler United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her children, Lynn S. Fowler (Garvin) of Sylvester, Jean S. Farley (Jimmy) of Penny Farms, Florida, and Alan Snipes (Mary) of Dalton, Georgia; grandchildren, Amber Stevens (Kip), Amy Chaffin (Scott), Jody Farley (Krista), Josh Farley (Amy), Jeffrey Snipes (Heather), Tori Hand (Mark), Laura Davis (Josh), Ben Williams (Cassie), and twenty-one great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Snipes was preceded in death by her husband of seventy-five years, Henry Grady Snipes on April 11, 2019, and nine siblings.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2:00 PM until the service hour at Banks Funeral Home.
