Thelma Grace Duffey , 95 Jul 13, 1924 - Apr 26, 2020 Thelma Grace Duffey, 95, of Boonsboro, MD, passed away, Sunday, April 26, 2020, at her home.
Born Sunday, July 13, 1924 in Zittlestown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Otho Jones and the late Grace (Huffer) Jones. She was preceded in death by her husband William Thomas Duffey.
Thelma graduated from Boonsboro High School in 1943. She was employed with Fairchild Aircraft and later was employed with London Fog Mfg. retiring after 30 years of service.She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Boonsboro. Thelma volunteered at Reeders Memorial Home, where she volunteered over 1500 hours of sewing services. Thelma and her late husband Bill loved to travel, especially bus trips.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl M. Rice & husband Brian of Thurmont, MD; two sons, Wayne L. Duffey,Sr. & wife JoAnn of Boonsboro, MD, Kevin T. Duffey & wife Sandy of Hagerstown, MD; four grandchildren, Wayne Duffey, Jr. of Sharpsburg, MD, William Duffey of Funkstown, MD, Stephanie Palmer of Hagerstown, MD and Tyler Duffey of Baltimore, MD; great grandchild, Chad, Kristi, Leah, Brynnleigh, Braydon & Jordan. two sisters, Selvia Jean Gouker of Middletown, MD and Barbara Reeder of Middletown, MD.
She was preceded in death by her son, Allen Dwight Duffey, brother, Alvey Jones, sisters, Janice Kramer and Anna Mae Derr.
Services will be held privately with the family.
Interment will be at the Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown, MD.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD.
