Tessa Marguerite Bowers, 57, of Canton, Ga, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2022.
A native of Acworth, Georgia, she was the daughter of Joseph Bowers and the late Judy Grizzle Bowers. Tessa was an Investigator with DeKalb County Solicitor-General office. As a dedicated member of law enforcement she had served various communities including Fulton County District Attorney’s Office, Cartersville Police Department, Kennesaw State Police Department, Southern Tech Police, and the Cobb County Sheriff’s Department over her 30 year career. A well-decorated officer Tessa was most recently recognized twice by the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office as Trial Court Investigator of the Year and was awarded Investigator of the Year by the DeKalb County Solicitor-General.
Tessa loved her work, her friends, and her family. She enjoyed spending time in nature, caring for animals, and rooting for various favorite sports teams. She was an advocate for the unwanted and forgotten of this life adopting countless abandoned or disabled pets on her small farm in the country.
She is survived by her soulmate/wife of 25 years Marsha Johnson; father, Joseph Bowers Jr and brother Joseph Bowers of Knoxville, TN; nieces Cassidy and Sophia Bowers, of Marietta; numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
All are invited to attend Tessa's Memorial Service at Piedmont Church, Marietta, GA, on Saturday, July 30th at 11:00 AM.
