Terry Alsup, 74 passed away on April 20, 2021 at his home in Conroe, Texas after a yearlong battle with brain cancer. Terry was born to Harold and Janice Alsup on February 8, 1947 in Odessa, Texas. Upon graduation from high school he attended Odessa Junior College and The University of Texas at El Paso on a golf scholarship.
Terry made a life out of the sport he loved, golf. Over his 50 year career he worked at 3 Country Clubs as the Head Golf Professional. He worked for John Jacobs Golf Schools in Phoenix, Arizona and Las Vegas, Nevada as a Director of Instruction for 17 years. Terry was a lifetime member of the P.G.A and played on the PGA tour in 1975. In 2012, Terry and his wife Gail retired to Montgomery, Texas living in Walden on Lake Conroe. Terry was actively involved in the Walden Golf Community and met amazing friends in his time there. Terry was a member of First United Methodist Church in Willis, Texas.
Terry is survived by his wife of 46 years, Gail Creamer Alsup, daughters, Joni Jensen and husband Scott of Kearney, Nebraska and Marlo Crow and husband Guy, of North Richland Hills, Texas. Sisters, Vicki Thornton and husband, Larry of Odessa, Texas and Micki Barnett and husband Ronnie of Seabrook, Texas, Cousin, Richard Alsup and wife Netha of Montgomery, Texas. Terry has four grandchildren that were the center of his universe, Brandon, Amber, Kady and Molly. He was survived by numerous nieces, nephews and amazing friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Harold Alsup and mother, Janice Barnes Alsup.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at First United Methodist Church of Willis, Texas on Monday, April 26, 2021 at 11 AM.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to First United Methodist Church of Willis, Texas, www.willisfumc.org or a charity of your choice. The family gives special thanks to St. Joseph's Hospice and nieces, Brenda Hopson and Joann Clark for their compassionate and loving assistance in helping to care for Terry.
