Terri "tk" (Burleson) Jenkins passed away in her home surrounded by family on Friday, December 17th, 2021, at the age of 65.
She was born June 22, 1956 in Amarillo, Texas to Forrest F.L. "Sonny" Burleson and Katie J Swafford Dunn. At the age of 18, tk left Baird to join the army and later worked many years for the Texas Department of Public Safety. tk ultimately laid her roots in San Angelo where she found her home at Angelo Civic Theatre (ACT). It was there she found her love of costume designing and acting for over 30 years. She never met a stranger and fearlessly danced to the beat of her own drum. She was known to walk with her head held high and always made everyone feel seen and heard. She touched the lives of everyone who met her. tk became a staple in the theatre community in San Angelo. She will be remembered as a legend to many. Her light will forever burn on the ACT stage. tk's love of community theatre was surpassed only by her love of her daughter, her family, and her cats.
tk was preceded in death by her father, Forrest F.L. "Sonny" Burleson and older sister, Leonna K Adkins.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Jenkins; her mother Katie Swafford Dunn; her brother Jeff Burleson; brother-in-law Johnny Adkins; nephew John and Melanie Adkins and their son Austin; Niece Christy and Ramey Burke and their daughter Lily Kate; Niece Haley Nicole Watson and several cousins.
