Terrence Paul Grochowski, 90, died peacefully in prayer on February 24, 2023. He was born in Waterbury, Connecticut, the seventh of seven children to the late Felix Grochowski & Pelagia (Kalendkowska) Grochowski. Terrence (Terry) leaves behind his sons Mark Grochowski & and his wife Barbara, Kurt Grochowski & his wife Christine, his daughter Ann Bloniarz & her husband Christopher, and his daughter-in-law Ellen Grochowski. Terry also leaves and was loved by his grandchildren Michael & Steven Bloniarz, Mae & Ryan Grochowski, Therese Grochowski and Matthew Grochowski. Terry was baptized with the name Teofil. His sisters didn't like the name, so when they registered him for kindergarten they changed it to Terry. Terry was a proud graduate of Leavenworth High School in Waterbury. Upon graduating, Terry attended the University of Connecticut for one year. After completing the year, Terry enlisted in the Navy and legally changed his name to Terrence. He was stationed in Jacksonville, Florida and joined the Hurricane Hunters as a photographer. After completing his years in the Navy, Terry married his beloved wife, Arlene. Terry attended the University of Connecticut and received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He worked at Pratt & Whitney for 30 years. Terry was a great fan of UConn sports including football, men's basketball and women's basketball. He was a devout parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Rockville, CT. Terry was predeceased by his beloved wife, Arlene, of 59 years, and his son, Paul, as well as his brothers and sisters. The family would like to thank Manchester Memorial Hospital and Hospice Care of the VNA of Vernon for caring for Terrence. Relatives and friends may join the family on Wednesday, March 1, from 5 - 7 pm at Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect Street in Rockville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 2, at St. Joseph Church, 33 West Street in Rockville. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Rockville.
