Terrell was born on February 19, 1936 to Tom and Cora Holland in Beaumont, TX. He was a resident of Vidor, TX and graduated from Vidor High School in 1954, continuing on to Lamar Tech for college. He joined the United States Army Reserve in 1958 for a term of six years. On March 8, 1958 he married his high school sweetheart, Jo and in 1965 they welcomed son, Sloan. He then followed in his father's footsteps and started his own successful company, H&H Electric.
A dedicated and active member of the community, Terrell served as a chairman for the Builders Association, Vice chairman of the Sabine Neches Soil & Water Conservation District. He served as director on the Board of Gateway National Bank in Beaumont, Texas. He was instrumental in obtaining the charter for the new First Texas Bank in his hometown of Vidor and went on to oversee the construction of the bank building, becoming a major stockholder and Chairman of the Board of directors.
After retiring Terrell entered the ranching business, where he and Jo owned and operated many successful ranches in Texas and Oklahoma over the years. With usually a good herding dog by his side he turned his lifelong dream of ranching into a reality with his passion for cattle and horses that he imprinted in the hearts of his family and those that worked closely with him.
He had a smile, a handshake, and kind words for everyone he met. "Da", as the grandkids affectionately called him, delighted in sharing his love of ranching, the outdoors, and history with them. Terrell was a hard worker that kept those around him laughing with his humor and charm, the joy he brought to each day will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
