Teddy Ferri passed away peacefully on February 28, 2021 in the serene, spiritual setting that is Mary's Meadow at Providence Place in Holyoke, MA.
Teddy was born on April 9, 1928 in Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico to Herbert and Robertina (Harty) Bursley. Her father and her husband, Guy Ferri, were both US Foreign Service Officers. Teddy traveled the world bringing love, light and kindness to everyone she knew. She lived overseas in Mexico, Turkey, Honduras, Argentina, Viet Nam and Paraguay. In the United States she lived in Washington, D.C, Greensboro, PA, Rye, NY, Palm Coast, FL and Northampton, MA. She is a graduate of Seton Hill College, Greensboro, PA.
She was a tomboy and loved being the softball pitcher on the American High School team in Mexico City, Mexico. She loved swimming and diving and participated in water aerobics into her 90s. She was a very kind and generous soul and volunteered throughout her life in schools, community and church. In Palm Coast, FL her volunteer activities included: Lector, Faith in Action, Adoration, Bingo, Mother Seton Guild's "Cathy's Kitchen." She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus. In Northampton, MA she volunteered at the Soup Kitchen of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish.
Her family, friends and acquaintances were drawn to her beautiful smile and the easy connection she made with them as she always thought of ways to help, support and make you feel at ease.
She is survived by her brothers, Pat Bursley, Bob Bursley, her daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie Healy and Larry Daniele of Northampton, MA and Debbie and Maury Lynch of Rye Brook, NY, her grandchildren, Maury (Heather), Chris (Erin), James (Christine), Katy (Phil) and Laura, her great-grandchildren Julia, Claire and Nolan, her step- grandchildren Sarah (Jarett), Joe and Libby, and step-great-grandchild, Jack, sisters-in-law Elsa Rentschler, Lucy McAlpine, nieces and nephews.
A private funeral mass will be held at the convenience of the family. DROZDAL FUNERAL of Northampton has been entrusted with her services.
