Teddy Cecil Long, 59 of Purcellville, VA passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 19, 2021 at home surrounded by his family.
Teddy was born on July 21, 1961 in Alexandria, VA to Herbert Long and Shirley Smarr.
Teddy grew up in the Lorton, Fairfax and Sterling areas. He attended Park View High School and Monroe Technology Center where he established many lifelong friendships. In 1979 after completing school Teddy started his career at Superior Iron Works Inc. in Sterling Virginia where over the next 40 years, he worked to become Vice President of Production. During these 40 years he also met his wife and raised four children in Purcellville Virginia on a farm that he and his family built together. Teddy was always a person full of humor, mischief and adventure from the time he was a child, which he carried on into his adulthood. He loved telling a good joke at a backyard barbeque with his famous ribs cooking on the grill. He also loved fishing trips, traveling, family gatherings, getting a good deal and hitting the jackpot in Atlantic City. Teddy was a strong leader who was generous to guide you with his wisdom and advice. The one who would be there to lend a helping hand in times of need. Our family rock will forever be missed.
"A limb has fallen from our family tree that says grieve not for me, remember the best times, the laughter and the song and most of all the good life I lived while I was strong."
