Sylvia (Labbe) Ouellette, age 70, passed away unexpectedly at her home on July 20, 2023. For 49 years, she was the beloved wife of David A. Ouellette.
She was born on October 5, 1952 in West Stewartstown, NH, daughter of the late John and Marcelle (Roy) Labbe. She grew up in Colebrook graduating from Our Lady of Grace Academy and then from Sacred Heart Hospital School of Nursing in Manchester, NH.
A longtime resident of Portsmouth, NH, she also resided for two years in California in the 1970's and in England for two years in the early 1980's, before settling back down in Portsmouth.
Sylvia worked for many years as a registered nurse. While in California, she worked at St. Jude Hospital in Fullerton, CA as head nurse in the rehab department. Locally she worked at Portsmouth Hospital in the ER and several local nursing homes.
After her retirement from nursing, and until her passing, she co-founded and helped run a family-owned computer software company which is based in Portsmouth NH.
Sylvia exuded a "joie de vive" and brought tremendous joy to her family and friends. She was generous beyond measure. Sylvia started painting with watercolors in 2008. She enjoyed taking classes in person and online. Family members treasure her paintings uniquely tailored for each individual which she gifted them at Christmas.
Besides her husband, David, she is survived by her two sons, Jeremy Ouellette and his partner, Antoinette Rosa of Exeter, NH; Jason Ouellette of Dayton, ME, and three sisters and their spouses, Judy & George Jacques of Colebrook, NH, Louise & Dennis Blais of Pittsburg, NH, Lisa Strempfer and her partner, David Wood of Concord, NH; a brother-in-law, George Noyes, of Charleston, SC and a sister-in-law, Becky of Plymouth, NH, also many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was the sister of the late Carole Noyes, Roland Labbe, and John Labbe.
SERVICES - There will be no visitation. A celebration of her life will take place on August 4th, 2023.
