Sylvia (Schroeder) Luther, age 99, of Mukwonago passed away on January 25, 2024. Sylvia was born on a farm south of Arcadia, Iowa to Ben Schroeder and Anna Hinners on September 25, 1924. She was the youngest of eight children, Evelyn Legg, Coletta Petersohn, Rita Sundrop, Irene Schroeder, Francis Schroeder, Slyvester Schroeder, and Cletus Schroeder.
Sylvia graduated from Arcadia High in 1942. She went to Milwaukee soon after with her cousin Maxine (Schroeder) Listwon. In 1955 Sylvia married Gerald Luther. After nearly 63 years of marriage, Gerald passed in 2018.
Sylvia loved to play bingo and going to casinos with her friends. She also enjoined attending her card club and playing poker.
Sylvia had many dear friends. One special one was Kathy Szada who she talked to most every day.
Sylvia was a loving mother to her four children: Jeff (Patty) Luther, Colleen (Bob) Wagner, Annette (Bill) Johns, and Bob Wyka, she also is survived by her son-in-law, Jeff Sommer.
Sylvia had nine grandchildren: Michael Luther, Sara (Adam) Mattson, Amanda (Sean) Rosen, Alyssa (Ian) Erle, Aaron (Eileen) Luther, Josh (fianc?e Samantha) Johns, Kaitlyn Johns, Brandon Wagner, Ryan (McKenzie) Wagner,
Sylvia also had two great grandsons Landon and Brayden Rosen who she loved dearly.
Sylvia is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter Maureen Sommer, and her siblings.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Sylvia on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 11:00AM at St Joseph Parish (S89W22650 Milwaukee Ave, Big Bend) with Father Andrew Kysely officiating. A visitation for Sylvia will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:00AM until 10:45AM. Burial to follow immediately at Rural Home Cemetery.
