Suzanne Collins, 94, of Martinsburg, WV and formerly of Smithsburg, MD, passed away, Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at Harmony at Martinsburg. Born Monday, January 20, 1930, in Cumberland, MD, she was the daughter of the late Emmanuel Harold Ford and the late Wilhelmina Elizabeth (Saum) Ford. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Michael Collins, Sr. She graduated from Alleghany High School class of 1947. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She is survived by her sons, Thomas M. "Mike" Collins, Jr. & wife Mary, Richard J. Collins & wife Vonanita, Steven F. Collins & wife Jewel and Pat Collins & wife Krystal; eight grandchildren, Angella Rudisill, Rebecca Miley, Erica Wallech, Corey Collins, Brittany Collins, Kyle Collins, Sean Collins, Jennifer Collins; and numerous great grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Saum Ford and wife Rosemary and three grandsons, William C. Collins, Daniel T. Collins and James T. Collins. Sue was an avid reader and loved crossword puzzles. She was a talented artist in toll, painting many pieces of wood working crafted by her husband Tom, and also loved to fish. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday October 9th at 9:00am, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 201 North Centre Street, Cumberland MD 21502, with the Father Mark Carter officiating. Interment will be at the Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery, Flintstone, MD. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church, 201 North Centre Street, Cumberland MD 21502 or to the charity of your choice.
