REMSEN- Suzanne L. Brand, 61, passed away unexpectedly on September 6, 2024 in Alexandria Bay.
She was born on August 19, 1963 in Utica to James and Vivian Hurlbut Walter. She graduated from Remsen High School with the class of 1981 and worked as a lifeguard at the Enchanted Forest Theme Park in Old Forge. Suzanne attended SUNY Oswego, where she earned her bachelor's degree and upon graduation, she worked alongside her father preparing taxes. On August 23, 1986, she married Chris Brand at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Forestport, a loving union of 38 years. Suzanne worked as an accountant for 34 years for Bank of America.
She enjoyed many activities including, snowmobiling, skiing, and being the north end coffee and donuts girl at the Remsen Barn Festival of the Arts for many years. She especially enjoyed visiting Alexandria Bay.
Suzanne is survived by her beloved husband, Chris; her father, James Walter of Remsen; her mother, Vivian Walter of Remsen; two siblings, T. Kyle (DeAnne) Walter of Barneveld and Andrea (James) Moore of Asbury, New Jersey; three nephews, Zachary Moore, and Ryan and Justin Walter; One niece, Alexandra Moore; two great nephews, Caden and Kass Walter; one great niece, Haely Walter; and Chris' eight siblings and their 50 plus children and family members.
Funeral services will be private. A gathering to celebrate Suzanne's life will be at the Alder Creek Golf Course Saturday, September 14, beginning at 11:30 AM.
