Susan Coster Malsin, 79, died on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Talbot hospice in Easton, MD: She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Arthur Malsin Jr., her son Michael Malsin and wife Heather, daughter Kim and husband Tom. Sue was born on November 22, 1944 in Havana, Cuba, to Mildred and William Coster, where she lived until 1959, when the family left Cuba due to the impending revolution lead by Fidel Castro. The family found their way to Duxbury, Massachusetts. Shortly after arriving in Massachusetts, Sue's Mother, Millie Coster, passed away from breast cancer. The family then moved to Bronxville, NY, where Sue graduated high school in 1962. She continued her education at Lasell Junior College, earning an Executive Secretary Degree. Sue held various positions at IBM, Hartford Insurance Company, Temple Israel, Tools for a Better living, Dura Docks and Chesapeake Boat Works.
Sue and Art married September 2, 1966 and lived various places over the years, including Agwam, MA, Harrisburg, PA, Darien, CT, Carmel, IN, Sparta, NJ, Carmel, NY, Croton-on Hudson, NY and Easton, MD.
Sue was a loving and caring Mom to Michael and Kim and could often be found on the sidelines cheering them on. Her other passion included tennis, gardening and volunteering. She was known to be a strong competitor on the tennis courts and all her homes featured beautiful gardens.
Having been born in Cuba, Sue was bilingual. In the early 2000's she went back to school and became a certified Spanish/English interpreter. With this certification she volunteered as a translator in the1udicial system.
Sue was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Easton, MD. She was also a breast cancer survivor and an active volunteer for The American Cancer Society. On daffodil days, sue could be found passing out daffodils, a vibrant and resilient flower which serves as the emblem of hope for cancer patients, survivors and families.
Sue is survived by her grandchildren Alyssa Malsin, Lilly Glynn, Colin Glynn and predeceased by her granddaughter Julia Malsin,and her sister in-laws Delphina Coster and family, Louise Rothschild and family, Lane Dunn and family, and Mary Merrow and family. In her last days Sue was lovingly cared for by Dania Almontes an.d Johanna Lopez.
