Susan Van Dyke Cranford, age 73 of Warrenton, passed away January 14, 2021 following a brief illness.
Born in Augusta on April 11, 1947, Susan was the daughter of the late Andrew L. and Pauline Smith Van Dyke. She was retired from a sales career with Macy's department stores. She and her late husband Charles were helpful in the Raysville Ministry and were helpful in many areas of service with their church including the church bus ministry and Backyard Bible Clubs in Warren County. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Thomson. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Charles Cooper Cranford, Sr.
Survivors include son and daughter in law Chip and Deann Cranford of Mt. Airy, daughter Carla Cranford McMahan of Taylors, South Carolina, brother Danny Van Dyke of Warrenton, brothers in law Clay Cranford (Judy) of Summerville, South Carolina and Eley Wagnon (Carolyn) of Decatur, grandchildren Annie Cranford, Lily Cranford, Polly McMahan, Walter McMahan, and Cooper Cranford.
A celebration of life service will be held at 12:30 PM, Saturday, February 6, 2021 at the First Baptist Church of Thomson with Dr. David Lambert, Mr. Arch Smith and Rev. Chip Cranford, officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church beginning at 11:00 AM. Those in attendance are encouraged to wear a mask and maintain social distancing guidelines suggested by the CDC.
