Suetie Marie Woods died at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler, TX on March 15 at the age of 93. Services will be held Saturday, March 19 at 10am at Gladewater Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Croley Funeral Home. Mrs. Woods was born Feb. 23, 1929 in rural Young County, TX. She was a resident of Kilgore, TX from 1960 until her death. She met the love of her life and husband during World War 2, marrying Adrian Maurice Woods on June 10, 1944 in San Diego, Duval County, TX. The union produced one child Ruby Marie Woods Newsom. Mrs. Woods attended Olney High School and was by profession a seamstress. Mrs. Woods was a longtime member of Grace Christian Fellowship in Longview (formerly Worldwide Church of God) where she served as a deaconess. She loved family history and research and was a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Mrs. Woods was preceded in death by her parents Powell and Thelma Hewitt, her brothers Barney Hewitt and C. W. Hewitt, her husband of seventy years Adrian Woods, and her daughter Ruby Newsom. She is survived by grandson Dr. James Newsom and wife Tonya, granddaughter Thelma Kipe & husband Greg, great-granddaughters Lauren Murillo & husband Alex, Madison Newsom, Evelyn Kipe, Victoria Newsom, great-great-granddaughters Kira Munez and Cataleya Murillo, former son-in-law Lynn Newsom, sister-in-law Evia Joyce Hewitt, and numerous nieces and nephews.
