STEVEN KENSICKI, Steven Felix Kensicki, "Steve" or "Sonny," 76, of Rock Hill, SC and formerly of Cleveland, OH, passed to his Lord and Savior on Monday, June 21, 2021 surrounded by his family. Born June 18, 1945 to the late Stephen and Rose (n?e Pospisil) Kensicki, Steve was a true American patriot and a devout Catholic.
Steve studied Chemical Engineering at the University of Detroit and paid his way through school selling programs at Cleveland Browns and Indians games. Never a day went by where Steve didn't catch up on Cleveland sports. When he wanted to attend a sporting event, he was a nightmare to the ticket scalpers. He also loved the stock market and always had a stock quote at the ready. Steve strongly supported Catholic education and made sure his children attended Catholic schools.
On most weekends, you could find Steve tending to his lawn ("I make it like a fairway") and flowers. Wild birds loved his property because he always made sure to spread birdseed and old bread.
He is survived by his four children, Stephanie, Christopher, Steven, and Carl; daughters-in-law, Kristy and Natalie; grandchildren, Christopher, Jr., Kamron, Kayleigh, and Russell; siblings Marilyn, Diane, and Philip; ex-wife and mother to his children, Linda; his significant other of many years, Cyndi, and multiple nieces and nephews.
Consistent with his wishes, a Catholic mass will be held at St. Mary's of Rock Hill on Friday, June 25 at 9:30am. He will then be buried at Laurelwood Cemetery in Rock Hill.
A celebration of life service will be held in the Cleveland area at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please direct any donations to Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin School in Chardon, OH (www.ndcl.org).
