Steven David Alther, 71, of Washington, VA, died December 14, 2021 at his home. He was born October 31, 1950 in Charlottesville.
His life was more than a dash
Came and left as fast as a flash
Humbly and wholeheartedly he served his Savior
He loved and kept his vows to his sweet Cuddles, Judy, of thirty-four years and more
His legacy lives on through his children, Joshua (Amanda) and Joy, whom he dearly loved
However, nothing was more honoring than being called Pappaw by Caleb and Nathan, the reason to keep his memory above
Not only did he serve his Savior faithfully but proudly he served his county as a veteran of the United States Army
He was a life long resident of Rappahannock County
Steven worked with his hands all of his life as a gardener and as a carpenter
As a child of God he became a winner
In addition to his wife and family, he is survived by his parents, Roy and Josephine Alther; as well as his brother, Roy Alther (Janet), his sister, Ann Pullen (Duane), and his nephew and nieces.
A private ceremony will be held at the family cemetery officiated by Dr. Vinton Williams of Trinity Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family.
An online guestbook and tribute wall are available at www.foundandsons.com
Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper is serving the family.
