Steve Jum Yee, artist, naturalist, and avid fisherman, transcended this world on February 22, 2022 at the age of 87. Steve is survived by his daughter, Phyllida Stonecipher; grandchildren, Benjamin, Alison, Joshua, and Isabella; and three great grandchildren.
He was born on July 29, 1934 in China. After making his way to the U.S., he grew up in Greenville, MS, where he won 1st place in his high school art show. He studied at Memphis College of Art and later founded a successful advertising company. Steve, most well-known for his art inspired by nature, was a locally acclaimed artist, receiving numerous local and national awards for his work over the years. A solo exhibition of his artwork was held at the Brooks Museum in Memphis in August of 1968. We remember him for his gracious and peaceful demeanor, love of nature and the outdoors, and passionate dedication to his craft.

A celebration of Steve's life will be held on Thursday, March 10th at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN 38122. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 AM preceding the service.
