Steve Brett Hennings, age 67, beloved father, son, brother, and friend passed away peacefully from congestive heart failure early Monday morning, November 1, 2021. At Steve's request, no services will be held. He was born November 12, 1953 in Hammond, Indiana, son of Robert and Georgine (Clausen) Hennings. He graduated from Henderson High School in Chamblee, Georgia, and served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Vietnam War. He spent most of his working life as a registered land surveyor. Steve loved nature and spent many decades living in hand built tree houses or tents in the woods and passing his knowledge of nature on to his children.
Steve is survived by his children, whom he loved deeply, Stephanie (Jeff) Bivins and Steve Anthony Hennings. He is also survived by sisters Teresa Hennings, Nicolette (Michael Paulk) Hennings, Monica Hennings, and nephew Michael (Emily Thornton) Naughtin, great-nieces Frances and Josie, and many favorite cousins. We will greatly miss his phone calls checking on family and friends and how everyone was doing.
Steve was predeceased by his parents Robert and Georgine, and brother Tony. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Hospice Care Options for their care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Boys and Girls Club of America.
