Stephen Bradley Thornton, 50 of Ellettsville, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, May 5, 2021.
He was born in Bloomington, Indiana on November 14, 1970 into the home of Gene and Mable (Flynn) Thornton. Stephen was a hard working and devoted employee working for the Coca Cola Company making deliveries for 20 years. He also worked as a welder and mechanic with the National Salvage and Service Corporation for 18 years. He was a loving and good Dad and bonus Dad. Family was always important to Stephen and he wouldn't miss the chance to have a gathering, for dinner, movies or just because. He was the life of any get together. Stephen had a loving big caring heart, placing everyone's needs before his. In his free time he enjoyed riding his Gator, dancing, being a grandpa, and fishing. Stephen was an 80's horror movie fan and enjoyed collecting memorabilia and action figures of the characters from the movies. Stephen will be missed by all that knew him.
Stephen is survived by his Fiance, Mary Scherschel of Ellettsville; Son, Jacob (Holly) Thornton of Ellettsville; Daughter, Karly (Jorden Baize) Thornton of Evansville; Two Bonus Daughters, Karissah (Jeremy Abrell) Scherschel of Ellettsville and Whitney (Drew Rusnak) Scherschel of Ellettsville; Granddaughter, Lillian; Grandson, Luke; Parents, Gene and Mable Thornton; Two Sisters, Lisa (Pat) Fitzgearald and Gina (Daniel) Johnson; Brother, Michael (Kim) Thornton and many Nieces and Nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 8:00 pm at Chandler Funeral Home-Ellettsville Chapel with Paul Adams officiating.
