Stephen E. Richards, 65, of Rushville, passed away March 6, 2021.
Stephen was born in Willimantic, CT on Feb. 23, 1956, a son of Loren E. Richards and the late Josephine (DiNenno) Richards. He married Anna Jo (Fry) Richards Aug. 4, 2007 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Rushville, she survives.
He was a graduate of Rushville Consolidated High School in 1974 and attended IUPUI for two years. He worked at many positions throughout the years and was a salesman at Plumbers Supply Indianapolis, IN where he worked for 45 years. Steve was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church where he served on the parish council, past grand knight of the Knights of Columbus 769 and a former member of the Milroy Economic Development Committee.
In addition to his wife Anna Jo, he is survived by a son, Joseph L. Richards, of Rushville; his parents Loren and Linda Richards of Rushville; three sisters, Joyce (Arch) Turner, of Williamsburg, VA; Shelley (Walter) Lamle, of Piedmont, OK; Christi (Paul) Peach, of Newburgh, IN; five brothers, Greg Richards, of Noblesville, IN; Ronnie Richards, of Noblesville, IN; Andy (Karen) Richards, of Indianapolis, IN; Stan (Kay) Richards, of Rushville; Kenny Richards, of Berlin, Germany.
He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Jane Fry, brother-in-law, Tom Fry, both of Rushville; brother-in-law, A.J. (Karen) Fry, of Marion, IN. Several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews also will miss him. Preceding him in death are his Mother, Josephine, a Daughter, Angel Marie and Father-in-law Ed Fry.
Due to COVID-19 precautions, all attending must follow Governor Holcomb's mandates: You must wear mask; you must social distance.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Thursday, March 11, 2021 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. James Brockmeier officiating. Burial will follow at Rushville's Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 PM Wednesday March 10, 2021 at Todd Funeral Centre & Crematory where all are invited to recite the rosary at 3:40 PM.
