Stephen Biggerstaff, 73, died peacefully at home on October 17, 2019.
Steve is survived by his life partner Sharon Kitchens, son Todd Biggerstaff (and wife Jennifer), daughter Melissa McNab (and husband Ben), his brothers Mike, Aaron, and Rick. He is predeceased by his spouse Suzi and his parents Sam and Lucy Biggerstaff. He has 6 grandchildren: Wes, Neely, Stella, Sam, Brody, and Beck.
Steve was born in Evansville, Indiana and attended the University of Evansville, where he graduated with a BS in Electrical Engineering in 1969. His professional career was notable for his willingness to take risks and start new ventures. He retired from Duke Energy in 2001 as Executive Vice President of Economic Development. He later co-founded Metronet, where he worked as a consultant right up until his passing.
Steve was a world traveler both for work and pleasure. He was a true family man and dedicated partner. He was passionate about education and children, founding the Suzi Biggerstaff Memorial Scholarship for high school students and serving on the board for the Jackson Center for Conductive Education.
A visitation will occur at 11am on Thursday October 24, followed by a memorial service at 1pm, both at First United Methodist Church, 900 Indianapolis Rd, Mooresville, IN 46158. Celebration of life and interment will occur on Saturday October 26 at St. David's Episcopal Church in Bean Blossom, Indiana at 11am. Memorial Contributions should be made to the Jackson Center for Conductive Education, 802 Samuel Moore Parkway, Mooresville, IN 46158.
