Stephanie Lynn Murray, 49, of Shreveport, Louisiana formerly of Crab Orchard, KY passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at the Willis Knighton Medical Center North in Shreveport. She was the wife of William Anthony Murray whom she married February 23, 1995. Born on July 30, 1972 in Indianapolis, Indiana she was the daughter of Roger Dale Sowder and the late Lois Jean Richardson. She was a member of the Baptist Faith. Stephanie at a very young age desired to be a nurse. She earned her degree as a registered nurse and was currently employed by Cross Country Medical Staffing Network as a travel nurse. Stephanie served each patient with love and compassion before becoming ill with the novel coronavirus. She was hospitalized on August 18, 2021 in the same place that she had been faithfully serving others. She loved her patients, colleagues and her profession. She was known to say that nursing and caring for others were her calling. Apart from work, she loved and adored her family. She enjoyed family cookouts and the beauty of all of God's creation.
Stephanie and Anthony's union was blessed with a wonderful son, Austin and she loved knowing that he was happily married to his precious wife, Madelyn.
In addition to her Husband, Anthony and son, Austin and wife, Maddie she is survived by her
Biological Father, Roger Dale Sowder; Step Dad, Charles Richardson; Sister, Lea Ann & husband, Dewey Edwards;
Nephew, Justin Edwards; and a Niece, Kayla Edwards.
Stephanie was preceded in death by Mother, Lois Jean Richardson on August 20, 2020 and one sister, Terri J. Sowder
Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM eastern standard time on Monday, September 27, 2021 at McKnight Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Lancaster Cemetery in Lancaster, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 3-6 PM on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at McKnight Funeral Home and from 8AM until time of Funeral Service on Monday, Sept. 27th at the funeral Home.
