HUDSON - Stephanie A. McNally, age 70, passed away peacefully at home on June 8, with her family at her side after a year-long courageous battle with cancer.
Preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph and Stella Ramian; brother, John Ramian, she is survived by her husband of 47 years, Michael McNally; daughter, Lauren McNally; son, Bryan McNally (Erin Rueff), and grandchildren, Maggie, Fleur, and Emily.
Born in Akron, she was a resident of the Hudson area for the past 34 years. She was a graduate of Hiram College and earned a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Akron. Stephanie spent 35 years as a teacher for the Akron Public Schools, retiring in 2008, and continued to contribute to education as a substitute teacher in the Hudson City School District until becoming ill. She made a positive impact on the lives of hundreds of young children during those years and made a significant contribution to the futures of many of her students.
Stephanie was many things in life - teacher, mentor, colleague, friend, gardener, world traveler, decorator, shopper, and Buckeye fan. There was no role that she embraced more in life, however, than that of mother and Nama (grandmother). Family was her number one priority, followed closely by the many friendships she maintained. We will miss her smile, her energy, and her wit, but most of all, we will miss the love she had for life and for those she cared about.
The family will conduct a Celebration of Life service on Thursday, June 16 at 10 AM at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, OH 44224, and where friends may call on Wednesday, June 15 from 5 PM until 8 PM.
Should friends desire, memorials may be made to either Akron-Canton Food Bank (http://www.akroncantonfoodbank.org), 350 Opportunity Parkway, Akron, OH 44307.
