Stella "Blanche" Thompson passed away peacefully on 30th of January 2022, to join our heavenly father. Her faith allowed her loved like no other, laugh with contagion, and give with radical generosity. She was a compassionate and encouraging wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all.
She was preceded in death by her mother Estella Gutierrez, mother-in-law Goldie Collet (Robert), and her nephew Justin Flores. She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years Dr. Charles "Chuck" Thompson D.D.S., her father Jose R. Gutierrez (Arlene), her father-in-law Charlie Thompson (Patricia), her daughters Courtney Thompson and Ashley Girdley, three grandchildren Caydence Thompson, Harper and Hunter Girdley, her four sisters, Annie Mae Wright, Debbie Flores (Daniel), Brenda Gutierrez (Desiree Castro), Liza Dokken (Christopher), her two brothers Roland Gutierrez (Scarlett) and Michael Gutierrez, her eight nieces and nephews, Daniel, Jason, and Megan Flores (Caleb Rivera), Zachary Wright, Sophia and Arabella Gutierrez, Oliver and Becklin Dokken, and so many friends who became family that are too numerous to list.
Her love for people was evident in every aspect of her life. She was a Veteran of the United States Air Force Reserve assigned to the 34th AeroMedical Evacuation Squadron based at Kelly Air Force Base. Her passion for dentistry was apparent in her patient care, mentoring of dental students, dental hygiene students, and dental assisting students, and running a successful Dental practice with her husband for 15 years. Her family and friends were her world and she always made efforts to let them know how loved they all were. Her life and legacy will live on forever in each of their hearts.
Celebration of Life services will be held at Compassion Church, 2862 Thousand Oaks Dr., in San Antonio, TX, 78232, on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at 2pm.
In Lieu of flowers we would like all proceeds to go to the San Antonio Christian Dental and Medical Society at give.cmda.org. For further information please contact Dr. Scott Phillips or Mitzi Roberts at (888) 230-2637.
