Stella Mae Wessman Kiel, age 95, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, December 13, 2025 surrounded by her family in Milaca Minnesota. Stella was born on January 29, 1930 in Milaca top Henry and Jessie Wessman. At an early age, she accepted Jesus as her personal savior. She attended the Christian Missionary Alliance Church of Milaca where she met and married the love of her life John Kiel. They moved to a wonderful neighborhood in Falcon Heights and formed many life long friendships with their neighbors and members of RoseHill Alliance Church where they were faithful members for many years.
Mille Lacs Lake was a favorite destination for John and Stella and their family, spending most vacations enjoying the lake. When they retired they built a home on Blair Way. When the winters were too much they would hop on a plane to Apache Junction, Arizona and enjoy the warmth and friendships they established there.
Stella was a loving mother to three children, Richard (Carole), Debra (John), and Michael (Kristin). She was also an amazing grandmother to eight grandchildren, Garrit, Jessica (John), David (Abby), Aaron (Gretchen), Nathan (Jenn), Julia (Chris), Brandon (Katie), and Kelsey (Dale). She loved being a great grandmother to 16 great grands, Abbie, Brady, Callie, Logan, Reese, Nora, Vivienne, Elin, Svea, Signe, Noah, Linnea, and Micah. Second to her faith, her family was most important. She is survived by her brother, Bud Wessman. Stella was preceded in death by her husband, John and her eight sisters.
Stella was a gardener, an avid reader, and loved to sew quilts. Along with that was her love of people. She would often host dinners and events for neighbors and church friends. Even in her latter years as she lived at Country Meadows in Milaca, you would find her at most of the social events playing games, making crafts or engaging in Bible study because that's where you would find other people. Many people were touched by her kindness and caring and most importantly her prayers for them. She was a true prayer warrior. Throughout her life she had an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at 11 AM at Milaca Ev. Free Church. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation one hour prior at the church.
